Last minute Christmas gift ideas on a budget...

Here are some ideas for Christmas gifts if you're out of money and still have people to buy for.

1. Quick breads: Make a bunch of banana bread, pumpkin bread, cinnamon bread, etc. Wrap them up with foil, plastic wrap, or cellophane. Add ribbon or stickers.

2. Homemade mixes: Soup mixes, drink mixes, etc.

3. Bath salts or other homemade bath products.

4. Repurpose things you find around the house.

5. If you have a little extra time, you may consider going to the thrift store to find some things.

6. If you have extra material around the house and know how to sew, consider sewing gifts. Knitting would also be an option.

Awesome prep items at Menards this week!!

In looking at the Menards ad for this week, I noticed a few items worth stocking up on! One of these items is the spray hand sanitizer for 5/$1. The other is ketchup for 88 cents. If you have a Menards by you, go stock up.

Storm is brewing....

I think that so many go about their day to day lives not really seeing things that are brewing under the surface. I guess that's similar to what happened before the Great Depression hit. I truly believe we are heading towards something very similar and need to be prepared for that. So...you're probably wondering what some steps are that you can take to prepare. I like to keep things simple and basic, things that everyone can do on a weekly basis. The first thing I tell people is to buy a little extra at the store. Buy a can or two extra or an extra bag of sugar or beans and put them back in your pantry for food storage. If you do this each week, you will soon see it add up and bless your family. Make a list of all the things your family uses on a daily or weekly basis and start stocking up. Be at peace and do this little by little, as your budget allows.

Christmas bills weighing you down?

So many people around the world are frantically trying to get Christmas shopping done this time of year. Many are spending money they don't have and putting things on credit cards, etc. I used to feel like this every year. This led me to creating a "gift closet". Using coupons and deals, I stock up year round on things that would make great Christmas gifts. I also make a lot of homemade things to give as gifts. If you're struggling this year, there's hope. I promise. Get creative, shop year round for super cheap or free items, repurpose things, make things, etc. You can also do this for birthday and other gift giving events year round. Create an area in your home where you can keep some basic gift giving items and shop from that when you need a gift. I would suggest sticking things in there for all ages. Get creative, have fun, and keep out of debt.
