Stocking your pantry...
Welcome to 2012 everyone! Whether your year is filled with abundance or hard times, it is always wise to have a stocked pantry that you can live off of when needed. A stocked pantry brings with it an amazing peace.
Here are a list of items that you may want to consider storing in your pantry:
flour-wheat or white
rice-white rice will last many years
variety of canned and dried beans
canned or dehydrated veggies and fruits
sugars-white, brown, powdered, and sugar substitutes if needed
canned meats and beef jerky
peanut butter
honey
canned soups and broths
jams/jellies
Those are just some of the items off the top of my head. The important thing is that you're stocking stuff that your family can live from during lean times.

Last minute Christmas gift ideas on a budget...
Here are some ideas for Christmas gifts if you're out of money and still have people to buy for.
1. Quick breads: Make a bunch of banana bread, pumpkin bread, cinnamon bread, etc. Wrap them up with foil, plastic wrap, or cellophane. Add ribbon or stickers.
2. Homemade mixes: Soup mixes, drink mixes, etc.
3. Bath salts or other homemade bath products.
4. Repurpose things you find around the house.
5. If you have a little extra time, you may consider going to the thrift store to find some things.
6. If you have extra material around the house and know how to sew, consider sewing gifts. Knitting would also be an option.
