Apples galore!
This time of year is a great time to get apples from local farms very inexpensively. This week I purchase several baskets of apples for $5 each. I plan to get more soon. I've been making a ton of applesauce, red hot applesauce, and apple butter. It's a lot of work...but when you open a jar in the fall and winter, it makes it all worth it. Canning is another step you can take to prepare your family for weathering the storms of life. This season is filled with surplus produce that you can process and store in your pantry. You will be thankful for it when the storms of life enter in to your life. Fill up those jars and fill up those pantries.
